Living life with an Orange Campervan:

"Good drive down to the ferry at Dover 23rd July 2024.

The van feels lovely on the road fully loaded with air suspension working beautifully.

Arrived at Calais, drove an hour or so and parked off grid for the night. After a great night's sleep in the double bed, early morning set us on our way to a friend's village at Briguile le Chantre in the Indre region of France, we took the route via the periphique of Paris and passed notable monuments like the Eiffel Tower and the Sacre Couer de Montmartre. Finally arriving at Briguile we parked up for the night and a reunion with Sue's friend from Rugby.

The following day we sought out a campsite close by and headed for Belabre a market town about 10 miles away. Found a camp, municipal la Quintaine on the banks of the river Anglin. A beautiful site with access to the towns natural swimming lake. Fully guarded every afternoon with large inflatables provide by the local council. Ideal for all ages of children and adults. We decided to stay here until August 8 when we will be heading North of Le Mans to Fresney sur Sarthe for several days.

The van is working superb for us, especially with the mossi blinds where we can sleep at night with doors and windows open.

Waste and fresh water gauges are really useful on long term camping. Not really needed to use our diesel fired water and heating system as yet. However a couple of days we fired her up for washing and dishes. Superb, fast and extremely quiet.

The vast amount of locker space we now have certainly exceeds our previous 6 metre motorhome.

Something we would never have thought about would be driving through Paris but this 5.4 metre van is perfect in any traffic.

We would not usually be using electric hook ups on site but have found the 3 way fridge beneficial on route and on site.

A little mod when we get back to blighty is an external 240 volt socket to power the electric Barby and the bike chargers.

To the next day's adventures in our Orange camper."
