Kate popped in to see us recently for a few tweaks to her 'van. We were happy to help her out as we always make sure you're 100% happy with your campervans long after you drive away.
We met Kate at the Bath and West Showground where she instantly fell in love with her van.
She stopped to chat with Richard and tell us about her ‘van and how she’s been getting on since buying it in November.

Getting to grips with it
“As it’s a short wheel base, I can use my ‘van as my everyday vehicle. It's my sole vehicle, so it's brilliant just for everything.”
“I had to get used to the slightly wider width and I did have a scrape early on, which I got sorted.
I was very loathed to tell Richard about it, but you can't see where it happened anymore. Orange Campers have brilliant aftercare because the tweaks that have been done today are just going to make a huge difference - and they’ve seen me at such short notice!
The little things make all the difference
The first time I did an extended trip was around Dumfries and Galloway, which was lovely. And having the very big roof light made a huge difference in keeping it cooler when we suddenly went into this glorious weather – and all the fly screens.
I've got the one on the door as well kept the midges out.
My friend came in and sat in my ‘van because she couldn't keep them out of hers, and we hardly got bitten at all.
Freedom!
Having the ‘van means I can go to friends' gigs, as I don't like driving at night very much anymore, and I can go, and with permission of the venue, I stay overnight.
They're quite happy – it's an extra ticket, an extra bum on a seat! I can have a drink whilst I'm there and I can safely stay the night.
I'm going to a family get-together in Kent and I'm going to a bike rally where I no longer have my motorbike. But I will be going in my campervan because I help with the setup and stewarding whilst I'm there.
Building confidence
There’s a wonderful group called Women Only Be Kind, run by Jules and Ali. And they offer workshops, and they did a women-only maintenance workshop, which was absolutely brilliant. I learnt a lot about the how and why of things: what wear patterns on tyres mean, whether you're underinflated, overinflated, out of alignment, have another sort of a problem.
All sorts of things!
And it gives you that confidence because if you break down, and you're in the middle of nowhere, you could physically attempt to change your tyre.
And you could do it and you know what you're doing and it gives you that confidence not to be worried about it.
When I now go to the garage and have things like brake pads changed, I will ask them to make sure they clean the hubs. I know what I'm saying now when I ask them, and I sound as if I know what I'm talking about and there's less chance of people taking advantage.
Prevention is better than cure, isn't it? It's such a lovely van, and I love it so much. I want to keep it in the best kind of condition that I can, and with the help of Orange Campers as well."
It's always nice to hear from a happy customer! Thank you Kate for sharing.
