THOUGHTS FROM THE WORKSHOP

New life to an old classic

Updated: Aug 8, 2020

Some old vans are not worth converting, but this is not the case with our customers’ 2003 VW Transporter. VW’s are iconic collectables, as such they retain their value and are well worth the investment to revamp.

Our client commissioned a full conversion including a side layout kitchen built and designed by us, safety wood effect flooring, a swivel seat, a Titan M1 crash tested bed, a 12 volt electrics package including USB outlets and a smart battery system.

To start we are going to fully insulate, re-board and carpet the van throughout. We will then lay down a new plywood floor and cover this with a hard wearing safety flooring in a wood effect.

Next we will install a furniture pod which we have designed and built in Bardolino Oak plywood with flush doors, a combination sink and a Dometic fridge. We will then exchange the double seat for a single swivel seat to open up the space, completing the conversion in style with the installation of a Titan quality built bed.

We will post pictures along the way and let you know how we are getting on. Watch this space!
