THOUGHTS FROM THE WORKSHOP

What happened at our Double Weekender Open Day?

Richard and Charlie

What better way to celebrate the launch of our new Trouvaille Classique MWB campervan than to invite the Orange Campers family new and old over for a BBQ?

Here’s an overview of what happened on the day – and why you shouldn’t miss our next one!

We were so lucky with the weather - it being late April it could have gone either way! But it was thankfully a lovely sunny day, even if it was a little chilly! But the main thing is there was no rain. Woo!

Newbury at The Southern Motorhome & Campervan Show

We were hosting at our Workshop in Rotherham (near Sheffield) so we had all our vans set up outside the unit. We had a great time showing everyone around the open campervans.

One of our lovely past customers brought along their Trouvaille Classique Short Wheelbase High Top ‘van for us all to see. Thank you Kev and Jan!

We actually had a few past customer visits, including two couples who brought along their ‘vans. One was interested in looking at the Medium Wheelbase and booking in for some extras to be added to their existing Classique Short Wheelbase.

All the team came along too! We had Jessica and Jordan running the barbecue, whilst Richard and I chatted away to all our many visitors. Richard even found some time to take someone out on a test drive in the micro camper.

In fact, the whole family came along which was a nice novelty as we don’t normally take our younger children to shows. It was nice for them to experience some of the hubbub for once!

It was truly a family event though so Billy and Charlie (aged six and eight) ended up helping us out with our customers! Charlie was the star of the show and was a natural salesman. Not to say Billy wasn’t great as well - he’d just been playing footie earlier in the day so didn’t have as much energy!

It was so lovely seeing Charlie get so into it all. He got right in the MWB and was sell, sell, selling!

Our customers couldn't resist his charm so he clearly has great potential for the future of running Orange Campers.

We were so honoured to have people travel from far and wide to be at our Double Weekender Open Day too.

One group had come as far as Galashiels - a town on the Scottish border. And the trip was clearly worth it as they ordered a Short Wheelbase Classique High Top that day!

Perhaps inspired by owners Kev and Jan Kingsnorth (who I mentioned above) who had brought theirs along.

Importantly, we had some really nice food from head chef Jordan, which made the event a wonderfully relaxing day. experience.

Jordan helps run the workshop usually as one of our key fitters. But it also turns out he's quite a dab hand at the barbecue as well!  I don't think there was any food left at the end so he must have been good.

But let’s not forget the reason for the day – to launch our new ‘van out into the world, 12 months in the making! We’re so happy visitors were impressed with the new Trouvaille Classique MWB campervan and the amount of space there is.

Whenever you're ready to join the Orange family, know that a super friendly and enthusiastic group of campervanners are just waiting to welcome you in and make sure you get the most out of your new adventures!

A current client said to me it’s amazing how innovative Richard is and how he's always reinventing and coming up with new things. He doesn't just go with what we've got, he keeps on adding to the company's repertoire, which is really nice to say!

And the customers from Galashiels actually said the reason they came back was they met Richard. We had a show last year in Edinburgh and they met us there and were really impressed with how much care Richard took of chatting to them and making them feel comfortable and gave them a lot of time explaining through the benefits of the ‘van, which they didn't feel other companies did so well. So that was the reason they travelled all that way to the Orange Campers Open Day! What incredible feedback to hear.

So all in all it was a fabulous day getting up close and personal with the ‘vans – and some delicious food too. What more could you want?

We’re likely to do another Orange Campers Open Day sometime soon. Want to be there when we do? Sign up to our mailing list and we’ll make sure you get an invite.
