Considering the Trouvaille Classique MWB campervan, but not sure if it’s right for you?
We get asked all the time, “Who is the medium wheelbase Trouvaille aimed at?”
And we’ve always said there's no real answer to that because it fits so many different people!
There are a lot of Medium Wheelbase ‘vans available on the market at the moment, so if you’re in the market for one, it can be tricky to compare.
Currently, only we at Orange Campers offer a pop-top version on the low-roof Fiat Ducato as a Medium Wheelbase campervan – so that’s already a difference!

Retirees
If you’re lucky enough to be retired, then a life of adventure still awaits with the Trouvaille Classique MWB!
If you have grandchildren, this is a fantastic way to go away together, as the roof bed is the perfect place for them to sleep.
We understand that once you reach a certain age, some things become more of a struggle, so we offer an electric pop-top option, too, for ease of use.
Our sit-down loo (Thetford electric flush toilet) is also a great feature that makes for a much more comfortable ‘van experience.
A big bug bear in campervans can be an awkward seat to bed manoeuvrability. We pride ourselves on making our seats and beds really light and simple to move around - so if you have a weaker grip or less strength, you can still easily manoeuvre these.
Families
We are a family of four (Richard, Sonya, and our two boys), and we go away in the pop-top MWB ‘van all the time! We love it as the bed set up is very spacious with the two beds upstairs, and two downstairs layout.
You have lots of flexibility with how you want to use the beds – you can have a double bed upstairs or downstairs, or you can arrange the beds to be singles downstairs, too. So the kids don’t have to be up in the roof bed if they (or you!) prefer.

Even with the beds set up, you can still walk up and down when the doors are shut and use the large kitchen, and it’s easy to cook meals for everyone, even in bad weather! We have a three-ring hob, an oven grill, and a useful sink where you can do the washing up easily as it’s a good size.
We've got a nice family area at the front. And at the back is a bathroom, which is ideal when staying at campsites with no facilities or long car journeys!
In fact, you can use the MWB as a second family ‘car’ – it has reverse cameras, parking sensors, Sat Nav, air conditioning, and cruise control, so driving it isn’t as hard as it may seem initially! We have clients who were a bit nervous about driving a ‘van and are very pleasantly surprised at how smooth the driving experience really is!

Couples
Whether you’re young or old – our MWB is perfect for couples.
Our beds can be set up either as two singles or a double downstairs with no effort in making them up (or leave the seats downstairs as they are and sleep up in the roof bed!).
Sometimes, in campervans, putting together the double bed can be heavy and hard work. But ours are honestly effortless as we make them nice and light.

Solo campervanners
And let’s not forget you, solo travellers!
This ‘van will feel luxuriously spacious if it’s just the one of you, as there’s bags of storage and room to move around.
If you do sports and want to bring equipment, such as your bike or a kayak, we have roof racks and a back door rack to securely attach them.
And if you want the flexibility of bringing friends or family along occasionally, then you can create separate sleeping spaces – either two single beds downstairs or one of you downstairs and one up in the roof bed.
Taller people
While the MWB pop-top can feel smaller with a low roof compared to the high roof version, it is still pretty comfortable to stand up in. Richard is 5’9 and he can stand up - even with the pop top fully down!
An option for someone even taller who doesn’t need or want the roof bed is to have the pop-top without a bed installed so you can then fully walk the entire length of the ‘van without ducking.
Being able to stand up comfortably in your ‘van makes the whole experience much nicer without an aching back!
We’ve even thought about worktops and windows in the ‘van – a lot of smaller ‘vans, as you may notice, are lower down. But we have placed things at a higher height to make everything more comfortable and to avoid any uncomfortable stooping.
Pet owners
We also have quite a lot of clients who bring their pets along with them on their travels – especially dogs! It really is an ideal space for them with the galley walk way and cosy spots for them to make their own.
